277 - The Temptation of Jesus

Kathleen's thoughts

Matthew 3: 7-17,4: 1-11
Mark 1: 7-13
Luke 3: 7-18, 21-22
John 1: 19-51

John the Baptist's ministry begins AD 25

John the Baptist's message He said " I am a voice of one crying out in the wilderness; Make straight the way of the Lord Just as Isaiah the prophet said"
Now they had been sent from the Pharisees. So they asked him, "Why then do you baptize if you aren't the Messiah, or Elijah, or the Prophet?
I baptize with water John answered them. Someone stands among you, but you don't know Him. He is the One coming after me, whose sandal strap I'm not worthy to untie
All this happened in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

John's Introduction of Christs
The baptism of Jesus After Jesus was baptized, He went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for him and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on Him. And there came a voice from heaven;
This is My beloved son, I take delight in Him!

John's declaration
The temptation in the wilderness Jesus was tempted in the desert after fasting for 40 days
the first temptation was Jesus was hungry and Satan tempted him by saying
If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.
But He answered, It is written;
Man must not live on bread alone
but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
The second temptation was when the Devil took Him to the holly city, had Him stand on the pinnacle of the Temple and said to him.
If you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down, For it is written:
He will give His angels orders concerning you, and
they will support you with their hands
so that you will not strike
your foot against a stone
Then Jesus told him, It is also written'
Do not test the Lord your God

The third temptation  was the Devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. And H said to Him, I will give you all these things if You will fall down and worship me
Then Jesus told him, Go away, Satan! for it is written
.Worship the Lord your God, and serve only Him

The first three disciples John Andrew & Simon.
Andrew, Simon Peter's brother was one of the two who heard John and followed Him. He first found his own brother Simon and told him, "We have found the Messiah! which means the Anointed One. and he brought Simon to Jesus.
When Jesus saw him He said, You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas (Which means Rock

Philip and Nathanael.

So it is written; The first man Adam became a living being ; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit, However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. The first man was from the earth and made of dust; the second man is from heaven. 1 Cor. 15: 45-47

Blessings
Kathleen.
