1 Kings 22:1-40
2 Chronicles 18: 12-34, 19: 1-11
Psalm 82: 1-8
Jehoshaphat summons Micalah the prophet to get his word from the Lord and he tells them
"I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said, THey have no masater let everyhone return home in peace.
So Ahab says to Jehoshaphat "Did I not tell you that he never prophesies good about me, but only disaster.
So Micaiah said "Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and the whole heavenly host was standing by Him at His right hand and at His left hand. And the Lord said, Who will entice Ahab to march up and fail at Ramoth-gilead? So one was saying this and another was say that.
The Lord told them that he has put a evil spirit on the prophets of yours and the Lord has pronounced disaster against you. the Zedekiah son of Chenaanah came up and hit Micaiah in the face, and demanded. Did the Spirit of the Lord leave me to speak to you
And Micaiah replied You will soon see when you go to hide yourself in an inner chamber on that day.
Ahab's death...So Jehoshaphat and Ahab went up to Ramothgilead and Ahab lost his life in this battle
So the king died and was brought to Samaria. They buried the king in Samaria. Then someone washed the chariot at the pool of Samaria. The dogs licked up his blood, and the prostitutes bathed in it, according to the word of the Lord that He had spoken.. Ahab rested with his fathers, and his son Ahaziah became king in his place.
God rebuked Jehoshaphat but God also saw the good in him because of him removing the evil things that the people were worshiping.
In the Psalm for today God truly speaks to one through it. Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless Uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked.
God show compassion in all ways. I have learnt this over the years and each time I needed it my Father was there and is for me there.
Jehoshaphat restores order.
Blessings
Kathleen.
