172 - Elisha goes home to be with the Lord. Judah and Israel.

2 Kings 13: 12-25, 14: 1-17
2 Chronicles 25: 1-24

Jehoash visits Elisha - Elisha becomes ill and Jehoash visits him and cries over him saying "My father, my father, the chariots and horsemen of Israel" Elisha prophesies over Jehoash.


Elisha dies and buried. A Marauding bands ( It means to raid a territory or a town in order to gain plunder. In other words, a group of soldiers are marauding if they go into a town for the purpose of ...)of Moabites. The Israelites were burying a man and when they saw the bands of Moabites they threw the corpse into Elisha's tomb and as it hit Elisha's body the man's life was revived and he stood up!


Jerusalem plundered. 
Then Jehoash went to Jerusalem and broke down 200 yards of Jerusalem's wall from the Ephraim Gate to the Corner Gate. HE TOOK ALL THE GOLD AND SILVER AND ALL THE UTENSILS FOUND IN THE LORD'S TEMPLE AND IN THE TREASURIES OF THE KING'S PALACE, AND THE HOSTAGES, THEN HE RETURNED TO SAMARIA. 
So once again we see the evasion into the Holy Temple and the treasuries are taken.


Then Uzziah at the age of 16 becomes king of Jerusalem and he reigned for 52 years in Jerusalem His mother's name was Jecoliah and she was from Jerusalem.  He did what was right in the Lord's sight as his father Amaziah had done. He sought God throughout his lifetime of Zechariah, the teacher of the fear of God. During the time that he sought the Lord, God gave him success. 
Here it show one that when you seek the Lord He shall be found and the rewards are great pressed down to overflowing. 


We read in today's word about the kings of Israel Judah etc it was a constant fight between the various places and all because of their choice to allow the high places in their land. God constantly reminds us through his word DO NOT DO IT! Today we look around the gardens of people and in their homes, one walks in shops they displayed... their are idols and temples being erected everywhere you go today. The prophecy of Joel with the earth shaking and we wonder why. As the word says My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: because you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
