Shofar for the Sabbath
Yemenite Jew
Chareen's Thoughts
  • Leviticus 18:3-4 You shall not do as was done in the land of Egypt in which you dwelt, nor shall you do as is done in the land of Canaan to which I am bringing you; neither shall you walk in their statutes. You shall do My ordinances and keep My statutes and walk in them. I am the Lord your God. This verse brought to mind one in the New Testament Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]
  • Leviticus 18:1-30 is all about who you may marry and who not to marry.  It also details wrong s*xual practices which the Lord calls an abomination.
The Feasts of the Lord:Leviticus 23:4 These are the set feasts or appointed seasons of the Lord, holy convocations you shall proclaim at their stated times:
If you want to know more about the feasts and their meanings / fulfillment for us as Christians and how we can celebrate and use them as reminders for our families I highly recommend Martha Zimmermans book: Celebrating the Feasts. Kindle edition.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]
